*i’m obviously facebook trolling tonight* but riddle me this batman….how is it William Larkin is still in ny state assembly, and also Nancy Calhoun? I ask this because they’ve both been in place for my area of living since 1990. Yet they both believe in human rights for others… I mean we all get an opinion, but seriously… out with the old demand….but that doesn’t happen if you don’t vote them out. Fresh blood, this is a joke.
My local assembly woman just recently said this passing.
“What we are doing today is not right,” said Assemblywoman Nancy Calhoun, a Republican representing Orange and Rockland counties. “We are changing the institution of marriage … this is a day I will remember as a day when the state of New York and its constitution lost something, and I’m very sorry that is about to happen.”
I understand all of the ways people can have differing opinions, but seriously….thats the type of shit this woman utters out of her mouth? I mean let’s think about the house of representatives and how several weeks we speak of Anthony Weiner sexting photos of his dick through what was suppose to be Direct Message to someone*which is wrong on him and his family* but come on…to make a derogatory statement like that on gay and lesbians? really? How bout giving that a headline. Man, its damn disappointing to see shit like that. VOTE!
Scare Story of the Day: Terror Babies? In my United States of America? It’s not likely at all.

I usually don’t do a rant on politics…but right now i’m ready to make an exception.
Here is the e-mail my House of Representative member sent about about voting YES to the Healthcare reform bill. I mean without beating around the bush of whether I support it or not…I don’t…and its not due to increased debt (which by the way…we’ve been in for way to long, and won’t be getting out of anytime soon if we stay in the monetary system) It’s due to concessions that were made in the bill…the same old same government working with lobbyists and pleasing each states votes….so its a deformed frankenstein monster of a bill that wasn’t the original child(the bill) that was concieved. I mean I voted against this kinda doing *and no…i’m not saying what people say…is what they do…always..I know government is still government* However come on…if this country wants to be for what its namesake is…then let’s start some goddamn progression.
Now…the e-mail:
Dear Friends,
From the day I first took office, I have sought major health insurance reform. It is long overdue. The cost of doing nothing is simply too high. For those of us fortunate to have coverage, our premiums continue to skyrocket. Everyone knows someone whose insurance company refused to pay for treatment their doctor ordered, or dropped their coverage altogether when they got sick and needed it most.
Since I took office, I have held more than 80 public events and meetings to get input from local families, businesses, and health care professionals. I’ve heard from a small business owner in Somers who says his business can’t keep up with health care premiums that rise upwards of 20% a year. I sat in the living room of a woman in Pine Island whose insurance company canceled her policy in the middle of radiation treatment for her breast cancer. I heard from senior citizens in Heritage Hills who can no longer afford their medications because they’ve exceeded their prescription drug benefits. I met a couple in Wappinger who lost their jobs – just as their son’s premiums were soaring because of a preexisting condition.
I have listened to you carefully. Based on your input, I pushed for improvements to the bills, many of which were included. Now, at last, the House of Representatives will take an up or down vote.
I believe this is a bill that will improve the lives of my constituents. Here’s why:
This bill immediately protects people with preexisting conditions (i’m for it!), and prevents insurance companies from dropping people when they get sick. Insurance companies can no longer impose annual and lifetime caps on benefits. Seniors will see the cost of prescription drugs go down, and everyone will receive free preventative care. Small businesses will get tax credits for covering workers. (otherwise if they’re in the middle of hirees….they will reduce work force to get those tax credits) Young people can stay on their parents’ coverage until they turn 26. (My luck is….I turned 26 last July, and moving towards 27, so just my luck, and no it doesn’t change the fact that i dropped out of college in 2003, which is where the first cut from my parents health care started, and then being unemployed for a year and a half, and all while being under 26…so FUCK YOU) And 32 million Americans who are currently uninsured will now have access to high quality, affordable health care.
This bill is fiscally responsible. It will cut the federal deficit by $138 billion in the first ten years, and by $1.2 trillion in the second decade. It keeps Medicare strong and healthy for years to come. According to state estimates, this bill will save New York more than $1 billion a year in Medicaid funding. (ummmmmm the debt is always gonna be what the word is…debt, its not like we’re gonna come out of the national, or state debt..they’re could be a surplus….but YOU WILL NEVER, and I MEAN EVER GET OUT OF DEBT)
I think we all understand that insurance companies are not going to reform themselves. I think we all agree that every American should have access to the best health care in the world. Saying “No,” isn’t an answer to the problems our country faces. This bill demonstrates that we as a nation can say “Yes,” and come together to solve the big challenges we face. (a plea before the end to please re-elect him when the time comes, and it figures its at the end, so you can remember that last)
That is why I will cast my vote for this bill.
Sincerely,
John C. Hall
